This i believe

This I believe
I believe in you get what you pay for. Many friends and family taught this to me at a very early age. About a year and a half ago I had to rebuild a motor in a car that I own. I had all the raw materials to start the build but I was not confident in my skills to build a motor quite like this one. As I searched around for a reputable builder I came upon one who seemed to know what he was doing and talking about. We talk about the build for a few months so we are exactly clear as to what needs to be done and what I would like to be for extra quality.
Well we finally come to a conclusion as to what I want done and how much that extra quality will cost me. A few days later I took the motor to his shop and together we inspected it. Everything went well for the inspection because the motor was in still good quality but not as good as it should be for what I needed it to do. At this point I believed everything is in good hands and everything will go as according to plan. Well this wouldn’t be much of a story if that were so to be true. A few months into the build I try to contact the engine builder but with no luck. Another month goes by and I start too become antsy about the whole situation.
I started to try and contact the builder. I call, text, and even email. I even drove to the builder’s shop where the work was to be done. At this point I was very suspicious about the builder’s history and I started to delve into his past dealings with other people in the same situation. Well shortly after I started to uncover a few bad transactions, cases involving people’s motors not being given back to them. I contacted him by email and I went ahead and expressed my concerns about the incidents and him not being in good contact with me. After a week or so he finally emails me back trying to reassure that everything will be fine and that everything is in order, that those mishaps have been resolved.
As I go on and wait for my motor a few more weeks go by once again. At this point my motor should have been long done and in my hands. Once again I tried to contact him to see if there were any updates on the motor and if there were any setbacks. Again I found my self in the same situation. Instead of sending emails this time I decided to drive up to his other place of work to contact him.

I get there about 10:45 am and I find his car at his other place of work. I head inside the shop with my friend to have a small conversation with the builder. Finally after an hour of asking around I find the builder and stop him and pull him off to the side to talk. Well as we talk about him not being in contact for months at a time. I express that I want to collect my motor since it was already months late and should be done. Well it is agreed that I need to collect my motor so we set up a date for the pickup in the following week. The week goes by and I set off to pick up the motor from the builder at his home.

Fnally I make it there and knock on the door with no answer. I call around and wait, I even go to his shop and other place of work to find him to figure out what is going on. I wait for six hours at his house for him to come home or give me a phone call. After six hours of waiting I finally get annoyed and leave a message on his front door explaining that I was there and I am overly frustrated about the problem and that he has 48 hours to contact me before I start the paper work to take him to court for my property and money into the motor. Even though I have had many court cases about this incident and won them. To this day I still have yet to receive my property back or money from this terrible transaction with the builder.

This is why I believe “you get what you pay for”. If I would have taken my time and money to a professional shop that had a slightly steeper price. I would not have had this mess that I am telling you about now. Please take my experience to heart and do not try and save a few dollars by going the cheap rout instead spend a little more to have better quality and a better experience.

snowboarding smack!!

well as most of use know snowboarding can be a blast for a winter sport. this last friday was my first chance in a year and a half to make it out to the slopes to ride. well mt lax may not be the best place in the world to ride but it does the job for wisconsin that is. from not being on a bored in 1.5 years it can be a little unforgiving because you have to almost relearn how to snowboard and get use to it in a very short time. well my last week experiance went somewhat like this. as i start off of the lift i wobble down to the path with one foot in the bindings to the start of the run. as i am going i relize that with my absents of riding i remember that i forgot to purchase a stomp for my bored. my back foot that is unstraped and out of the binding is out and slippng around. finally after a short little bit of chaios with that i make it to the start of the run. as i get strapped in and ready to go i start to get a little nervous because i am not sure what was gonna happen. as i start off things seem to be going good. my first thought about everything was how icey it was that day. luckily for me i had just gotten my bored retuned, waxed, and petexed. as i am going i find that the there are more than a few spots on the run that are just ice and that those parts are very hard to navigate through because the bored looses edge and slipes out easily. finally i make it down to the bottom of the run and back to the lifts. so i head back up for another go. with my confidence retaken i start my second run. as i am going i start to get faster and faster like i was use to with my previous years of snowboarding. as i am going at a rather fast pace at the moment i am trying to slow down for the ice spot well even though a snow bored has metal edges to cut into the snow it does not mean that they are unbeatable edges. well it just soo happends that my edge lets out and i fall. not a slow fall but a very fast and violent fall onto my face on the ice while i am sliding down the hill. just a short bit later i get up and inspect my face for any cuts or bleading luckily for me there was no breaks in the ice to cut me. well to my suprise theres no cuts even though it felt as if my face was bleading and slightly numb from the cold. while all of this is going on a few of my good friends watched this whole things happen while they where on the lift. as soon as we meet back up again i get laughed at for such a rookie mistake. even though i had gotten laughed at and somewhat humiluated from the accident. it just goes to show no matter how much experiance you have you always have to mind your
P's and Q's while doing dangrouse activitys lol. ps i still had a blast getting back on the bored.

Reliable builders?

so well the story starts off by having a spun bearing in my motor of my 1995 eagle talon tsi awd. well i had around 5grand saved up to rebuild my motor in the car. well i find a builder with a good reputation from at least this is what i thought at the time. well i finally comite to have this guy build my motor so i drop off all of the parts that are needed to build my motor. well the contract was written out to pay a set amount of money for the build and machining of the motor and that it would only be a few months for the build to be done. well a few months go by and well the motor is done and ready to be picked up. well i call to tell the guy that i was on my way and he answers and tells me he has been locked out of the shop by the building owner. well i talked to the engine builder about the situation and he said that he would have the engine out as soon as he had his possessions back out. well this carries on for about 6months before i start to get itching to have my car running and drivable. well during this time the guy stops getting in contact with me about the hole thing. so i have to run out of my way to find the guy in order to get my motor. so today i finally cornered the guy at his place of work and tell him that i want to pick my motor up this next week on Wednesday. so this is my just trying to vent my frustrations out because i am overly pissed about not having my motor for 6 months when i could have had my car drivable this last summer.

Hunting!!

Well where to start? Lets start by saying that the process of getting ready for hunting can be a strenuous task to do. Mostly because you have a lot of people out and buying the same things you need to get ready and things can run out and some people can get a little frustrated by that. one thing that i have noticed is when you get in line to check out there are a lot of people that seem to be in a rush for one reason or the other. a few other reasons hunting can be a pita is because you go in to the woods and wait, wait, and wait for almost nothing then at the last second after you leave the woods wakens up and everything starts to move, things can get very busy in a short time frame and it can be frustraiting when you hear everything around you but you cannot see anything. lets not forget that hunting can be a very enjoying past time. i find that when your in the woods or where ever you hunt that it can be very peacefull and serien, it really can help you let go of all the stress of your life for a time and it lets you be your self. another good fact that hunting can provide is the excersise and fresh air that your body needs to stay young and energetic. my main reasons for hunting is food, exercise, and family tradition. i love to be able to say that i put the food on the table with my own hands and that non of it was from some factory off in who know's where. this is just my small take on hunting and why i can dislike but love the sport and tradition of it.
